Hi Everyone, what a great site! We are in need of some help and advice. We've been a boat owner for decades, but we recently picked up a boat we'd been seeing for a couple years. It's an AeroCraft, sometime before 1963. Paid an extremely cheap price for it, package included boat, motor and trailer old tilt trailer at that! Anyways, there is no date on the registration naturally. They began putting dates on the registration cards after 1972 here in Wisconsin. The manufacturer went out of business around 1978. Does anyone have any idea of the age of this boat? If you need more up close pictures, let me know, I will email or post them.

Next problem... we want to restore it to as close to original as possible. Problem is the previous owner(s) painted not just once, but twice. We can see the 3 layers which includes the original red. The hardware is still great and should polish up good. What is the best way to begin the project?

Just FYI, bought the boat, the guy had a new impeller to put in the old 35hp Merc and voila...boat floats and motor runs!!!! We've already had so much fun in it. Our other boat is a 22ft Baja caliber and that's much fun too, but the l'il boat is just a gem! We want to make her beautiful again...any suggestions? We've never done this kind of work before, but we are handy. Thanks everyone!! Oh, and by the way, we're gonna name her "Old School".
