Gang: East Tenn "HalfBack" here on the beautiful Tenn River. Over 25 years ago in North East started collecting OutBoards and supporting AOMCI chapters in the North East. Too young for the Albany to New York City River Marathon races, but lived there.

.. Early glass was Glasspar G-3, free from co-worker that of-course needed a transom in 1980.
Still looking for old ski-boat NY 2854 - GD, IF Found .!

/.... Son went on to learn the hobby & went to work for OMC in Florida,Stuart during the FICHT development, & Master wrench cert. Has small performance engine shoip in Central Maine now.
..Another G-3 Center Deck came along after East coast hurricane, that got a 90HP V-4 omc trim & tilt addition, but passed on to another Glasspar member.
... Wife was anxious for another Blue / White show boat so modern day E-Bay search was under way.
South Carolina had indoor restoration underway, but Merc Tower on this 1962 Sedan Glasspar SeaFair was gone. Economy OMC was a spare for picnic & cruise.

.. Live close to ALLISON country, but classics hard to find. Being from Upsate NY took over rare 1961 TIGER Ray 15', needing restoration, Custom Craft, Ski Boat. Will keep Dark Red / White.
"SPLIT" is a combination of cycle/boat hobbies ,rig pkgs, etc, etc, Dont reminde me to watch these Barrett-Jackson car auctions after owning a brief time 1963 Split Rear window Corvette Coupe , 4-speed , side pipe exhaust car. Had some Cuda Muscle cars in that era.

Chapter 2 : WOW 180 views / hits in a day & half. Did not know that many members hang here.
.. Able to get a digital scan of the Chris Craft we showed in Mid 80's. HULL # in stringers was R-16-302, if anyone could LOCATE NOW. Asked some restore business ads, when they strip & refinish with stain /varnish, but not same #. Post WWII model Cedar, with mahogony in short supply, & patriotic with the Missle logo,(Guess why liked the Glasspar G-3 Missle intro ski boat). We got upstate NY from original owner , sold for high $ then year later got short note in US Mail HIGH & Dry in Farm field in North Carolina being foreclosed.??

..Lived on the East coast of Fla & went each year to big Mt Dora March show. Many new winter restorations were shown from east half of nation. Outboard antique crowd, & the start of Glassic movement. Good place to rub elbows with major movers. Mark Mason (Baby Bootlegger)(Best Barn/ warehouse finds in Canada) gold cup restore movement. .TomD'Eath (Miss Budw) good following now with Classic raceboat group. Wish I could make the Nov 8-9 Florida "Fantacy of Flight" race boat demo's.
Went this year to the Even St Lawrence Museum regatta. Son & I entered the 1st in 1992. Museum ground are awesome & everyone should see this complex & gift shop, or display a boat in Aug.

Have enjoyed cycle rides here in East Tenn "Beating the Weeds" looking for Stuff. Local town had WIDE body Odd style that was too big for me at the time, with dual DockBusters. Notified another out of state collector.

Chapter 3, Wow , 300 hits in 2 days.
2005 had 3 hurricanes hit Florida, in one side of the State ,out the other. The party was Over. Evacuating was No fun, Fema was no fun , insurance ind was going to change with Higher rate, cancel if older than 25 years, if you were within 25 miles of coast, etc.
.. Threw a internet dart HALF way BACK to our mtn roots and saw web pics of Chattanooga. Dad & faimly had worked for D&H RR, & another Hobby, so the re-modeled CHOO-CHOO city won a visit. Called the "Grand Canyon of the East" indian history even prior to the famous Lookout Mtn battle of the Civil war. Clean water, good fishing, very reasonable retiree utilities / housing was a winner.

..Just west of here is the JASPER o/b DRAGS each fall, & 06 ,07 had OffShore Race boats at the Rt #153 DAM. As John Denver sang "almost Heaven" aboput this East Tenn region towards bottom of W.VA, KY. 650 miles of River with the Dams out to the Gulf.
. Wife recently vols with the beautiful Aquarium & I do trail maint with the "Gorge Trust" land mgmt stewartship. New tour boat here 55mph ,3,500 HP , 4 deisel , Cat , bottom hydrofoil , 8"draft at speed, built in state of Wash, 70 psss , computer screens, quick stops, sundeck Joystick 360 degree power donuts, SWEET.

Our 7 year old Grand-Daughter came for most of July. She was raised in speedboat with father, but really gave her the chance to DRIVE (Alan Jackson) my boats. A happy natural , only a few days to earn her Harbor Pilot license. Kids & boats can be Very Rewarding.!!

Burlington Harbor & upper Champlain islands have such clear water this summer. Much nicer than the scuba diving days looking for Torpedo Bottles of the 1800's.

racer & AOMC Pres RIGGS Smith also yearly exhibitor. Again race museum bldg
something every collector should visit. Inboard Loud Hydros quite colorful, but good
mix of O/B styles . Allisons, white MOLINARI tunnel /Pickle fork in rear like my
friend will run in 09, maybe 260Hp O/B OBERRY's colors.?

Knoxville ,Tn Allison plant, also a young Chapter of the Glastron CVX crowd. My
pak rat neighbor does not wish to pass on his rig, rot away, anyhow have a nack to
FIND stuff.

freshen up the head gasket for 09. Custom.C. RAY 1961 Ski Boat Restoration.

. Friend Henry Champs (AOMCI) gathers us mtn boys twice a year ,LOUISVILLE,
to swap & show . Free day , even female Mayor cooks hot indoor lunch. This year
free raffle prizes & won a Tenn fishing pole. Medical helicopter demo's. Great event.
FeatherCraft club & a few Classic Allisons, wood o/b hydros join mix.

Red Dorsett should be from the "Two-Tone Book". Bigger shows like Clayton are always
fun to meet authors , like Peter Hunn, Brian Lawson.

& SeeBold quick turning tunnel after factory fire damage molds.
