Did you ever buy an outboard that came with a perfect electrical cord? I haven’t. On my Glastron I was lucky enough to find a NOS cable. It wasn’t cheap, but it was new. I have taped them, I’ve used plastic coil wraps, but nothing was right and waterproof. For my Classic Barracuda I needed two so I went to Home Depot and perused their 3M tape display. I found something called “Rubber Mastic Tape”. It was just what I needed to make the old cords new again. It sticks like glue, it’s waterproof, and it’s flexible. Remove the cover from the old cord, check for bad spots and repair with either a splice, or liquid electrical tape. Then cover with the rubber stuff. Quick, cheap, and it should last a long time, and look good.
